2600 ANNOUNCES HOLIDAY STIMULUS PACKAGE
Tue, 25 Nov 2008 02:34:31 -0500
Back at the closing ceremonies of The Last HOPE in July, we made mention of the fact that the Hotel Pennsylvania (home of our conferences) likely wouldn't be torn down anytime soon because of the failing economy (yes, we knew it was failing way back then). We encouraged people to help save the hotel by continuing to push the economy on a downward slide. The response to that request, as everyone now knows, has been simply phenomenal.

WUSB NOMINATED FOR MTV-U AWARD
Mon, 29 Sep 2008 19:38:03 -0400
We're happy to announce that WUSB, the flagship station for "Off The Wall" has been nominated as one of the best college radio stations in the United States by the folks at mtvU. WUSB has been instrumental over the years in encouraging diverse and controversial radio programs of all sorts. In addition to the currently aired "Off The Wall," the station was the home of the famous call-in program "Brain Damage," a show that led to the formation of WBAI's "Off The Hook." While WUSB has thus achieved quite a following in the hacker/technology community, there are so many other places where WUSB has had an impact. It was the first radio station in the United States to have a regularly aired reggae program and currently broadcasts music of all genres throughout the course of a typical week. Stations like WUSB are essential in exposing new artists and introducing the world to their music.
The voting for best station is open to anyone at http://woodies.mtvu.com/nominees/college_radio.
